The highly skilled stilt performers have developed unique style of interactive
stiltdance, that is light, friendly and graceful. Since its beginning in 1997,
Empress has become an exciting and distinctive company with an international
profile, and has performed in over 15 different countries. Empress now has
its base in New Zealand with branches in the Netherlands, the UK and Australia.

Waves (new)
Water and Wind, Blue sea, Blue sky, these two new all blue costumes are designed to make an impact on
water drenched horizons, and to fill the blue of an endless sky. Each costume
is a wave of silk, high into the air. Fluid and breathtaking.
Space Ballerinas
The newly re-designed Space ballerinas have something of ‘Swan Lake’ and medieval pageantry all combined.
White, pearlescent and young these two dancers hold court within the earthly spheres.
A vision too delicate to be real, the Space Ballerinas move,
like the moon.
Butterflies
A duo of gorgeous wings, colourful and flying.
The Buttterflies seem to float as they create their magic in the sky.
Light and graceful, friendly and serene, gently they cast their summer spell.
Flowers
Elegant flowers pose and strut. These smiling, fluorescent tulip types stroll above the earth, as if plucked from an enormous secret garden, where wild and beautiful plants grow to undreamed of sizes.
Silver Suits ( Snakes)
Shimmering, slender, sensual and silver these half-female, half-snake creatures dance slowly in white light.
Best at night, under lights, the silver Suits have been seducing audiences with their glimmering, molten quality and oddly humorous twist.
