Advice, concept development, direction and choreography for circus, music and theater productions, openings and presentations, films, opera, shows and total spectacle.
Etha Struick worked for 30 years as a balance acrobat in 12 countries. On her 17-th she went with the circus; she traveled with the artists of Circus Oz and learned the basics of the circus section. At home she built her own trapeze in her living room and trained daily on the trapeze and in handstands to master the technique. She specialized in Osmanistyle Acrobatyics and Trapeze and as a circusteacher. In 1999 she and her artistic team received the prestigious Prince Bernhard Culture Prize for Youth Theater, circus and choreography. Struick combines circuswork with her visual art.

Etha Struick is (inter) nationally on the rise as a passionate artistic inspiration and creator of the concept “New Circus”. After the modern style of Cirque du Soleil, New Circus Senso London and Cirque Stiletto (advice and openingact), she makes the next step in the development of a new circus style. With respect for classic circustechniques, she develops a fresh, original and dazzling mix of circus, (urban) dance, music, song and poetic elements into a contemporary, fast visual language and total show.
Etha worked with and for:

Hans Klok, Karin Bloemen, various artists of Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Eloize, Erwin Olaf, Dutch National Opera, Holland Festival, Sail Amsterdam, Concerthall Amsterdam, BBC England, and BMW Cars (dinner circus show).

(Karin Bloemen): “The choreographies of Etha Struick show the experience she has in her rich career inside and outside the circusworld and she is enthusiastic about setting up circusimages that appeal to a demanding public.”

(Hans Klok): “Etha is always very enthusiastic: she succeeds in touching the audience with an original, characteristic, personal-new circus touch – in her productions”.

Etha has an extensive network of international circusartists, and has her own productioncrew, light and sound technicians, cameramen and photographer.

(Dick Bruna about her work as a draftsman): “You are an acrobat on paper”.

She herself says: “Circus is my life”.
